J&T Express Collaborates with Ternate Police and North Maluku BNNP to Combat Drug Abuse in Ternate

J&T Express, in collaboration with the Ternate Police Department and the North Maluku Provincial National Narcotics Board (BNNP), held a press conference and conducted drug testing for employees at the J&T Express Gateway (sorting warehouse), located at Royal’s Resto, Ternate. This initiative reflects J&T Express’s ongoing commitment to preventing drug abuse and promoting a safe and healthy work environment.

The event was attended by representatives from the North Maluku BNNP, including Drs. Hairuddin Umaternate, M.Si, and the Ternate Police Chief, AKBP Anita Ratna Yulianto, S.I.K., M.H., who both expressed strong support for the joint efforts.

“As a service-based company, public trust is fundamental to our business. Today’s activities, which include drug awareness education and on-site testing, give us an opportunity to demonstrate J&T Express's commitment to maintaining a clean and secure logistics network,” said Adriansyah Halim, S.H., CPM., Assistant to the CEO of J&T Express.

Led directly by the North Maluku BNNP, urine drug tests were administered to all J&T Express employees in Ternate on the same day. The testing aims to uphold workplace integrity and safety at the operational level.

Drs. Hairuddin Umaternate, M.Si, a Senior Narcotics Counselor with the BNNP, emphasized the importance of this preventive action and highlighted the role of public-private partnerships in strengthening distribution channel monitoring and minimizing the risk of abuse.

“Awareness programs and early detection through drug testing are crucial to improve oversight in the workplace. These initiatives are a valuable form of education and should be supported as a model of proactive prevention. We are open to continued collaboration to reinforce logistics security,” said Hairuddin.

Ternate Police Chief, AKBP Anita Ratna Yulianto, S.I.K., M.H., expressed appreciation for J&T Express’s initiative in promoting a clean logistics chain and healthy work culture.

“We commend J&T Express for taking the initiative to combat drug circulation, especially within the logistics sector. We hope this sets an example for other industry players,” said AKBP Anita.

Adriansyah concluded by noting that this incident serves as an important reminder: “This should be a collective reflection that safeguarding the logistics distribution chain requires cross-sector collaboration—from private companies and the police, to BNN and transportation authorities,” he stated.
