The Backbone of Online Businesses: J&T Express Delivers Bandung Fashion All the Way to Papua

The city of Bandung and its surrounding areas are widely known as one of Indonesia’s key garment and apparel production hubs. From this region, a wide range of fashion products are produced and distributed to many parts of the country. It is no surprise that many fashion businesses have emerged from this ecosystem, ranging from small-scale ventures to brands that now manage their own production.

Within this environment, many entrepreneurs begin their journey with simple experiments—starting as resellers, selling through marketplaces, and utilizing social media to reach more customers. One such example is Nuritari.

The fashion brand started its journey as a reseller with relatively small sales volumes.

“We started as a reseller. Back then we only sold about one plastic bag a day, around 10–20 items,” the owner recalled.

Over time, the business continued to grow. Today, Nuritari no longer only sells products but also operates with its own design and production team. Orders that once amounted to only a few dozen items a day have now grown to thousands.

Adapting to Marketplaces and Live Streaming

The rapid growth of e-commerce has also transformed the way sellers connect with customers. Beyond marketplaces, live streaming has become a popular channel for sellers to interact directly with buyers. The Nuritari team has also embraced this approach, hosting live sessions up to twice a day.

However, like many other businesses, the journey has not always been smooth. Fluctuating sales, changing economic conditions, and challenges such as orders that never convert into transactions or fraudulent purchases have become part of the realities that entrepreneurs must face.

Despite these challenges, the owner of Nuritari believes that consistency remains one of the most important keys to sustaining a business.

“This business is not just about us. It’s also about the team that works with us every day. That’s why we have to keep pushing forward so the business can continue to grow,” he said.

As Shipping Volumes Continue to Grow

As orders increase, shipping needs naturally grow as well. Products that were once shipped in small quantities now need to reach customers in cities across Indonesia every day. In this process, logistics systems become a crucial part of online business operations.

Since 2017, Nuritari has partnered with J&T Express to support the delivery of its products. For sellers handling large order volumes, pick-up services have become particularly helpful for daily operations.

“Sometimes the packages are only ready late at night, but they can still be picked up. That really helps our operations,” he explained.

In addition, shipping systems that are integrated with marketplaces help sellers manage growing orders more efficiently.

“Most of our customers actually come from eastern Indonesia, including Papua. We also have many customers from Java, especially East Java,” he added.

The owner of Nuritari also acknowledges that reliable logistics support plays a crucial role in ensuring products reach customers more quickly.

“So far we haven’t had any major issues working with J&T Express. Their team is always responsive and helpful,” he said.

For Nuritari, the journey from a small reseller to a business capable of shipping thousands of packages every day did not happen overnight. Behind it lies a long process of adaptation, teamwork, and the support of a growing digital ecosystem that continues to help the business expand.

How to Choose a Shipping Service Based on Your Business Type

Choosing the right shipping service is a crucial factor in ensuring smooth business operations, especially for SMEs and online sellers. Beyond logistics, the right shipping partner also plays an important role in maintaining customer satisfaction. Using an unsuitable shipping service can directly impact delivery performance and, ultimately, your business reputation.

Since each business sells different types of products, it is essential to match your shipping service with your specific business needs. Below is a practical guide to help J&T Friends choose the right shipping service based on the type of products you sell.

  1. Understand Your Product Requirements
Before selecting a shipping service, clearly identify the type of products your business offers. Common product categories include:

  • Fashion products (clothing, accessories)

  • Beauty and personal care products (non-frozen)

  • Books, documents, and non-fragile items

  • Lightweight electronic products

Make sure the shipping service you choose is capable of handling your products properly. If your business involves items that require special handling, such as frozen goods, you will need a courier that specifically supports those services, as not all logistics providers offer them.

  1. Fashion and Accessories Businesses
Products such as clothing, shoes, bags, and accessories are generally non-fragile and relatively safe to ship. For this type of business, the key priorities are delivery speed and coverage. Choose a shipping service that:

  • Has a wide delivery network across regions

  • Offers both regular and express shipping options

  • Provides real-time shipment tracking

A courier with nationwide coverage helps ensure consistent delivery times for customers in different locations.

  1. Dry Food and Shelf-Stable Products
Businesses selling dry foods or packaged snacks are very common among SMEs. While these products do not require special temperature control, it is still important that the shipping service can maintain package condition throughout transit. Consider a shipping service that:

  • Follows proper package handling standards

  • Provides clear delivery time estimates

  • Offers stable and reliable regular shipping services

In addition to choosing the right courier, proper packaging is equally important to ensure products arrive in good condition.

  1. Document and High-Value Item Delivery
For businesses that ship important documents or valuable items, security and accuracy are essential. Choose a shipping service that:

  • Offers dedicated document delivery services

  • Provides appropriate protective packaging to ensure safe arrival

  1. Online Businesses with Routine Shipments
For SMEs and J&T Friends who handle daily or high-volume shipments, operational efficiency is key. Look for a shipping service that:

  • Offers a seller-friendly ecosystem with added business benefits

  • Supports bulk and routine shipments

  • Provides convenient pickup services

Choosing a shipping service that aligns with your business type is an important step toward maintaining smooth operations and customer satisfaction. By understanding your product characteristics and shipping needs, J&T Friends can select a logistics partner that best supports sustainable business growth.

Make sure the shipping service you choose truly fits your business model and meets your customers’ expectations.

J&T Express Implements Strategic Preparations for Ramadan Shipping Peak

In welcoming the holy month of Ramadan 2026, J&T Express has implemented a series of strategic preparations to anticipate the surge in parcel delivery volumes. This initiative follows the company’s performance during Ramadan 2025, which recorded an increase of more than 40% in shipment volume compared to the previous month.

Robin Lo, CEO of J&T Express, stated that the continuous growth in shipment volumes each year reflects the sustained consumer preference for online shopping, which directly impacts logistics demand. This trend has encouraged J&T Express to continuously optimize its operational aspects, ensuring deliveries remain safe, timely, and aligned with service standards, even amid significant volume spikes.

“Beyond the increase in shipments, this year’s Ramadan also coincides with the potential for extreme weather conditions, making delivery operations more challenging. Nevertheless, we remain optimistic about meeting customer expectations through adaptive strategies and our integrated technology systems,” added Robin.

J&T Express’ Strategy to Manage Shipment Surge During Ramadan

To ensure smooth and timely deliveries, J&T Express has implemented several key strategies, including:

  • Enhancing operational capacity by recruiting seasonal workers, adding night shifts, and optimizing sorting machines at gateways and sorting centers to ensure parcels are delivered on time in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

  • Increasing linehaul frequency (intercity and interprovincial shipments) using both trucks and aircraft, while maintaining strict vehicle maintenance to prevent delays and package accumulation.

  • Monitoring parcel flow in real time through artificial intelligence–based systems to ensure seamless distribution, alongside intensive coordination with field teams to address potential challenges such as extreme weather or natural disasters.

  • Ensuring all Drop Points and Mini Drop Points remain operational daily throughout Ramadan, allowing customers to conveniently access delivery services despite their busier fasting schedules.

J&T Express Optimistic About Rising Shipment Volumes

Based on a Jakpat survey, 70% of respondents plan to increase their spending during Ramadan 2025 compared to other months. Additionally, a Populix survey shows that 78% of consumers intend to purchase fashion products during the holy month. In line with these findings, J&T Express’ shipment data during Ramadan 2025 indicated that fashion was one of the most frequently delivered product categories.

“Given the consistent rise in shopping trends and shipment volumes during Ramadan in previous years, J&T Express is optimistic that delivery volumes this year will exceed the average daily shipments. Therefore, we remain committed to delivering the best service, ensuring shipments meet customer expectations, and maintaining service reliability throughout Ramadan,” Robin concluded.

To support the increased delivery needs during Ramadan, J&T Express is offering up to 50% shipping discounts for new users via the J&T Express application using the voucher code JNTBERKAH, along with 30% discounts from Monday to Friday and 40% discounts on weekends for loyal users. This promotion applies to J&T EZ services with a maximum discount of IDR 20,000 and is valid from 16 February to 31 March 2026.

This represented a 22.2% YoY growth, with the daily average shipment volume reaching 82.5 million packages, a 22.6% YoY increase. In New Markets (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Mexico, Brazil, and Egypt), J&T Express continued its strong growth momentum from the previous quarter. In Q4 2025, shipments in New Markets exceeded 100 million packages, reaching 130 million packages, a 79.7% YoY increase. The annual shipment volume in these markets reached 400 million packages, a 43.6% YoY increase. China also saw strong growth, with 5.89 billion packages shipped in Q4 2025. The full-year shipment volume reached 22.07 billion packages, a 11.4% YoY increase.

In 2025, the company continued investing in infrastructure and resource allocation, strategically optimizing network partners and outlets across markets while enhancing sorting centers to improve operational efficiency. In China, J&T Express rapidly advanced outlet automation initiatives and expanded cloud warehouses while actively supporting investment in automated equipment at outlets and the deployment of unmanned vehicles. This led to a 26% increase in automated equipment at outlets by year-end compared to June, along with the deployment of 1,000 unmanned vehicles to significantly improve last-mile delivery efficiency.

Simultaneously, J&T Express has established 173 cloud warehouses, enabling the provision of value-added services to meet diverse customer needs, enhance customer retention, and improve the overall experience. Additionally, J&T Express pioneered the use of first-class industrial-grade automated sorting equipment in Southeast Asia at last-mile outlets in Thailand, with plans for nationwide automation growth in 2026. This technology has also been implemented in similar outlets in Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. By the end of 2025, J&T Express operated 19,300 outlets and 246 sorting centers. The number of automated sorting machines across markets increased by 134 units YoY to 413 units.

Charles Junyi Hou, Group Vice President of J&T Express, stated, “Supported by the rapid growth of e-commerce and a diverse customer base, J&T Express has maintained strong growth in Southeast Asia and New Markets. In China, we are actively pursuing more quality-driven growth, and surpassing 30 billion packages globally in 2025 marks a new starting point for us. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen our global network, drive growth through innovation, and consistently meet market needs.”

Indonesia-China Cooperation Strengthens as Bilateral Trade Reaches USD 135 Billion in 2024

In line with this, J&T Express, a global logistics provider, is committed to leveraging this potential, particularly in logistics and e-commerce, to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global market while supporting the growth of the national digital economy.

As part of this commitment, J&T Express recently held an industry visit and conference involving leading companies from China, supported by the China Apparel Logistics Association of the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP). The program aims to deepen strategic ties between Indonesia and China in logistics and e-commerce, while creating broader collaboration opportunities for both global and local businesses.

Iwan Senjaya, Commissioner of J&T Express, emphasized that J&T Express is committed to supporting the development of Indonesia’s economy and promoting its potential in the increasingly competitive global economic arena. The initiative is expected to help international companies strengthen their understanding of and access opportunities in the Indonesian market, driven by J&T Express' support through its evolving logistics infrastructure and innovation.

“Indonesia is increasingly recognized as a key market in Southeast Asia, with immense growth potential in logistics and e-commerce. With our experience and extensive network, we are ready to support Indonesia’s digital economy by enhancing national logistics solutions and fostering collaboration with global companies,” Iwan said.

In response, Shi Wei, Secretary-General of the China Apparel Logistics Association from CFLP, stated, “Indonesia’s growing market offers tremendous potential for growth in logistics and e-commerce. As these sectors develop in both countries, we see significant opportunities for continued collaboration and mutually beneficial partnerships for business expansion in Southeast Asia.”

For context, the China Apparel Logistics Association of CFLP was established on March 27, 2017, as a national industry organization with voluntary membership from companies in the footwear and fashion, beauty and personal care, bags and accessories, and home textiles sectors. The association also supports production, distribution, and e-commerce participants in these industries, focusing on strengthening the logistics ecosystem and supply chain for the lifestyle sector in China.

The program organized by J&T Express successfully brought several leading Chinese companies to Indonesia, including Mercury Home Textiles, Bosideng, Xtep, Lancy, and Urban Beauty. As part of the program, these companies visited J&T Express logistics facilities, from drop points to sorting centers, as well as other leading companies in Indonesia.

Cek, Curiga, and Cancel: J&T Express Encourages the Public to Stay Cautious Against Online Scams

Amid the growing trend of online shopping and increased digital activity, the risk of online fraud or phishing has also risen. As a logistics company, J&T Express is committed to raising public awareness on safe transaction practices within package delivery through the educational campaign 3C: Cek, Curiga, Cancel.

According to the Cyber Patrol division of the Indonesian National Police, more than 14,000 reports of online fraud have been recorded, involving various forms of digital crime, including those impersonating logistics companies. J&T Express’ 3C campaign serves as part of the company’s social responsibility and digital literacy efforts to help the public identify potential scams, especially those frequently occurring within the delivery process.

“Through the 3C campaign, we want to encourage the public to stay cautious when receiving messages, links, or calls claiming to be from J&T Express. We also emphasize that the company never requests personal information or payments outside of official channels,” said Herline Septia, Brand Manager of J&T Express.

J&T Express’ 3C campaign invites the public to apply three simple steps when facing potential digital fraud:

Cek (Check): Always re-verify the accuracy of any information, links, or messages received in any form.
Curiga (Stay Cautious): Be cautious to suspicious details, especially requests for personal data or money transfers. J&T Express never asks for payments through personal chats. Always be cautious if the tracking number looks unfamiliar or if you did not order the package.
Cancel (Refrain): Stop interacting, ignore the message, and do not click any links or provide information if you feel unsure or doubtful.

Based on J&T Express’ monitoring, various forms of phishing that often misuse the company’s name typically include fake delivery messages sent directly to consumers via WhatsApp or SMS; imitation websites that trick victims into making transactions as if through official company channels; as well as refund or additional-fee scams using QR codes, which in many cases end up withdrawing the victim’s funds once scanned. J&T Express hopes the public will be able to more quickly recognize these signs of digital fraud and help spread this awareness within their communities.

“Customer safety is our priority. Public education on phishing is not only to protect J&T Express users but also to help build safer digital habits across society,” Herline added.

For complete information, customers can contact J&T Express through the Hotline Call Center at 021-80661888, the official website or the official Instagram account @jntexpressid.
